Boil, peel and mash the potatoes.
Cook the vegetables, drain and mix with the
mashed potatoes, keep aside.
Heat 1 tbs oil in a saucepan on medium flame and
add the mustard seeds, onion, bell pepper, and
chopped green chili.
Stir for a minute and add garlic paste, ginger
paste, cilantro, cumin seeds, coriander seeds,
turmeric powder, salt, lemon juice and half cup of
water.
Let the mixture thicken, then add the ketchup, hot
sauce and sugar.
Mix the potato vegetable mixture with the thick
sauce and stir well.
Remove the pan from the heat and let it cool. Mix
the breadcrumbs.
To make the batter, sieve the besan and All
Purpose Flour. Add the salt, turmeric powder,
water, and 1 tbs oil. Whisk to make a smooth
batter of coating consistency, adding more water if
necessary.
Make patties from the potato mixture, coat with
the batter, covering them completely and fry them
in medium to hot oil until golden brown on both
sides. Serve with a chutney of your choice.
